Board Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Dr. Khanh Nguyen, D.OM., L.Ac., Dipl.OM. (NCCAOM)
Dr. Nguyen received her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Oriental Medicine from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, formerly Tai Sophia Institute, and also serves as faculty supervisor in the student clinic. She is nationally board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in the field of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. Dr. Nguyen continues to further her education and skillset through advanced training across the country.
Dr. Nguyen is attentive, generous, and has an incredible work ethic. She skillfully applies what she knows to help each patient heal. Dr. Nguyen is experienced in Five Element Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Classical Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Traditional Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation. She has helped patients with lower back pain, sciatica, diabetes, irregular periods, infertility, allergies, knee pain, depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia, and much more.
Dr. Nguyen is also a teaching assistant to many of her former instructors and mentors. She also travels across the country with one of the top instructors in the field of cosmetic acupuncture to help train and certify practitioners in Facial Rejuvenation/Cosmetic Acupuncture. Inside of the treatment room, Dr. Nguyen applies deep listening and allows space for her patients to talk. She believes that before healing begins, the heart has to be open. In Chinese medicine, the Heart opens to the tongue, allowing for speech and expression.
When the Heart is blocked, the patient’s individuality cannot thrive. Dr. Nguyen takes time to check in with the patient on the mind and spirit level before starting with the needle treatment. For Dr. Nguyen, Mind/Body/Spirit are not separate and should not be treated separately.
